Beats 360 are out: buy new over-ears — or stick with refurbished?

Beats has a new flagship over-ear headphone. According to the Beats press release dated 22 September 2026, Beats 360 is the brand’s first customisable over-ear model: interchangeable ear and headband cushions, IPX4 sweat and water resistance (a first for Beats over-ears), and what Beats calls its most powerful active noise cancelling yet — up to 1.75× more total noise cancellation than Beats Studio Pro. UK coverage from T3 and GB News puts the launch price at £299.95, with orders open from 22 September and in-store / on-shelf availability from 24 September 2026 via Apple in more than 100 countries and regions.

Quick note: RebX does not stock Beats 360, and we do not claim day-one Beats 360 refurbished. This is a news/education piece for UK buyers deciding whether to buy the new cans, wait for wider reviews and price cuts, or choose a certified refurbished pair of headphones that is actually listed in our shop.

Premium ANC headphones are an expensive impulse buy. For many people the calmer high-end bargain is still a graded last-gen over-ear — not a launch-day SKU. Remember: refurbished is not a regulated word in the UK retail sense people often assume — process, grade and warranty matter more than the label.

What Beats actually announced

Key facts from the Beats press release (cross-checked with GSMArena and T3’s UK review):

  • Form: wireless over-ear flagship; fold-flat design with woven ripstop case
  • Customisation: first Beats over-ears with interchangeable earcup and headband cushions; Performance Knit (default) or UltraPlush kits sold separately
  • Durability: IPX4 sweat/water resistance (lab-tested; not permanent — Beats notes resistance can decline with wear)
  • Sound & ANC: new dual-magnet drivers; Adaptive EQ; Transparency mode; Beats claims up to 1.75× total noise cancellation vs Studio Pro
  • Chip & platforms: custom Beats chip (not Apple H1/H2); Class 1 Bluetooth 5.3; works with Apple and Android feature sets
  • Battery: up to 32 hours with ANC (and with Adaptive EQ when ANC/Transparency are off); Fast Fuel — about 5 minutes’ charge for up to 1 hour of playback; Transparency mode is quoted lower (~24 hours) in Beats’ footnotes and T3’s testing notes
  • No wired listening — unlike Studio Pro and AirPods Max 2, per GSMArena and T3
  • UK price / timing: £299.95; order from 22 Sep; shelf from 24 Sep; colours Black, Cloud, Pink, Sky
  • Cushion kits: standard about £49.95; introductory £9.95 in the UK until 31 October 2026 while stocks last (T3 / Beats footnotes)
  • Studio Pro stays in the lineup at a new lower price — £249.95 per T3 and GB News

That last point matters as much as the headline launch: when a brand drops a new flagship, the previous flagship often becomes the clearer bargain — new or refurbished — if you do not need IPX4 gym use or swappable cushions.

Should UK buyers order, wait, or skip?

Order now if the product’s unique hooks are the point: you want over-ears you can sweat in (IPX4), you like the cushion-swapping idea (spare knit for the gym, UltraPlush for the desk), and you are happy paying £299.95 for a first-wave Beats flagship that works across iPhone and Android.

Wait if you want more independent long-term reviews (clamp force, heat build-up and button ergonomics already draw notes in T3’s early review), clearer street pricing after launch week, or simply to see whether Studio Pro at £249.95 (new) already covers how you listen.

Skip (for now) if your current headphones are fine, you mainly want strong ANC for commute/office rather than gym over-ears, or you would rather spend less on a certified refurbished premium pair with known testing and warranty.

What it means for refurbished headphone shoppers

A £300-ish Beats launch does three practical things for used and refurbished audio buyers:

  1. It resets the “good enough” bar — if you do not need IPX4 over-ears or cushion kits, last-gen Studio Pro-class or rival ANC cans (when listed) can still feel modern
  2. It will eventually move trade-ins — more Studio Pro and similar models can enter used channels over the following months
  3. It raises the bar for sellers — buyers ask about battery health, ANC behaviour, pairing cleanliness and cosmetic grade on cushions/headband

Early Beats 360 second-hand stock will be thin, and cushion condition is part of the story on any over-ear. That is why we are not promising refurbished Beats 360, and why a graded pair with published testing often remains the sensible high-end bargain.

When RebX lists headphones, they follow The RebX Promise: functional testing, secure wipe where applicable, cosmetic grading, then clean and pack (our 90-point quality check). Grades describe looks only. Fair includes a 6-month warranty; other grades include 12 months, with 30-day returns and free delivery. See our grades guide and used vs refurbished.

Browse what we actually have — not what the launch cycle is talking about — via our headphones and audio collections. If Beats 360 isn’t listed, we don’t have it to sell.

Checks before you buy used or refurbished headphones

  1. Exact model — Studio Pro vs 360 vs buds are different products; confirm the listing title
  2. Battery honesty — how was health measured? Ask if the number isn’t published
  3. ANC / mics — test or ask whether noise cancelling and call mics were checked
  4. Cushions & headband — wear, smell, and whether replacements are available
  5. Pairing / accounts — should arrive cleanly unpaired from a previous owner’s Apple ID / Google account
  6. Cosmetic grade — photos should match the grade language (Fair → Excellent at RebX are looks only)
  7. Warranty and returns — length, cover, and whether you can send it back

If you’re comparing brand-new Beats 360 (£299.95) against a graded last-gen over-ear, price the total package: features you will use every day, battery you can live with, cushion condition, and warranty — not the press release alone.

Bottom line

Beats 360 is a real September 2026 launch story: customisable over-ears, IPX4, stronger ANC than Studio Pro on Beats’ own comparison, up to 32 hours with ANC, Apple-and-Android friendly software, UK pricing at £299.95, orders from 22 September and shelves from 24 September. Studio Pro remains available new at a cut price of £249.95 according to T3 and GB News.

Buy new if IPX4 gym use and swappable cushions are genuinely useful to you. If you’re shopping for a high-end bargain, treat the launch as permission to ask whether a certified refurbished pair — with proper testing, grade and warranty — already covers how you listen.

RebX is covering the news; we are not claiming stock of Beats 360. For devices we do sell, start with The RebX Promise, our grades guide, and browse headphones / audio.

Frequently asked questions

Does RebX sell Beats 360?
No — not as a listed model at the time of writing, and we do not claim day-one Beats 360 refurbished. Check our headphones collection for whatever models are actually in stock. This article is news/education, not a stock claim.

How much do Beats 360 cost in the UK?
T3 and GB News both cite £299.95. Confirm on Apple UK / Beats at checkout, as launch offers and stock can change.

When can I buy them in the UK?
Beats says orders opened 22 September 2026, with in-store and on-shelf availability beginning 24 September 2026.

Is refurbished safer than buying used Beats 360 later?
It can be — when the seller tests function (including ANC/mics), grades cosmetics honestly, clears prior pairing, and offers warranty/returns. Early launch second-hand stock will carry more unknowns. See our used vs refurbished explainer.
